Opal Legbars

Developed by Candace Waldron, the Opal Legbar is a barred lavender (self-blue) autosexing breed that lay a lovely blue egg.  These birds descend from Leghorns and Cream Legbars, which are exceptional egg layers - perfect for the homestead.  This Legbar variety still needs much work to shore up the typical Legbar characteristics.  We cross back to Cream Legbars frequently to shore up the Legbar characteristics and to keep the lavender feather color from becoming diluted.
